Privacy Policy

Last updated 17 October 2026

This policy explains what Flotion VB (“FlotionVB”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, who it is shared with and what you can do about it. The short version: we keep what the app needs to save your matches and bill a subscription, we don’t sell it, and there is no advertising or tracking of our own in the app (a match video you attach plays in YouTube’s player — see below). We do count visits, anonymously and without a cookie (see below). Questions go to info@flotionvb.com.

What we collect

  • Your account. Your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the name and profile details Google provides; if you sign in with Apple in the iPhone app, the name and email address Apple provides, which may be an Apple relay address. We use them to sign you in and to contact you about your account or subscription.
  • What you track. Matches, scores and every logged event with its time, team names, the league and division you label a match or saved team with, rosters (player names or shirt numbers and positions), lineups, saved teams (and which you used last, with which of their lineups), collations, links to any YouTube videos you attach, and the stars, tags, notes, landing spots and saved filters you add to a match’s video clips (with the tag groups you set up for them), and any questions you save in Ask. This is the app’s whole purpose, and it is stored in your account so it follows you between devices.
  • Questions you ask, if you use Ask. When you type a question, the question, the team names in the matches you are asking about (and which of them is one of your saved teams, so “we” can be understood), how many matches, sets and points they hold, and the names of the kinds of data recorded (not the data itself) are sent to Anthropic, whose AI model writes a calculation. That calculation runs on your device: your matches and rosters are not sent. If you ask a follow-up about the answer on your screen, your earlier questions in that conversation and the figures in that answer’s table (counts and rates, by team, rotation, role or player) are sent too, so the AI can refine the calculation or talk about the numbers. Player names are replaced with placeholders (Player A, Player B…) on your device before anything is sent, and put back in the reply you read; the placeholders are not kept anywhere. Team names, jersey numbers and positions are sent as they appear, and a name that does not match a player in the matches you are asking about is sent as you typed it — as is the text of a clip tag you made yourself, if a table is split by tags. We don’t store the question or the figures — only a count of how many you have asked each day (and how many could not be answered), used to apply Pro’s daily limit and to see how much Ask is used.
  • Subscription details. Which plan you are on (Free, Pro or Pro Unlimited), your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, and when your current billing period ends. We never see or store your card number — Stripe holds that.
  • Email updates, if you ask for them. If you sign up for new guides on our website, we keep the email address you give and the fact that you agreed, and use them only to send those emails. This is separate from your account.
  • Technical logs. Our hosting and database providers keep short-lived server logs (such as IP address, browser and time of request) to run the service and investigate faults.

We count visits ourselves. Each time a page of this website or the app opens, it adds one to a count of which page it was, whether you came to it from another page of this website, the name of the site that linked to it (never the address of the page you were on), the link’s campaign tags if it has them (utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign, nothing else) and the day. There is no cookie and no identifier, nothing is stored in your browser, and a count is never linked to an account or to you. Nothing is counted when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, and the App Store and Google Play apps never count anything (a page of this website that one of them opens in its browser is a visit to the website, and is counted as one).

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies (if you attach a match video, YouTube’s player may set its own — see below). Your browser’s local storage holds your sign-in session and one tracking preference (flip ends). Beyond that, the only thing from your account kept on the device is a match that hasn’t finished uploading: it is held in the browser’s storage until it reaches your account, then removed, so a dropped connection or a closed tab doesn’t lose it. If you choose a plan on our pricing page, the name of that plan is kept in that browser tab while you sign in (for at most half an hour) so the app can open checkout for it. The app also keeps a copy of itself — not of your data — so it opens on a poor connection.

Information about other people

Rosters can name players who aren’t account holders, including junior players. That information is entered by the account holder, is visible only to that account, and is used only to show that account its stats. If you are a player (or a player’s parent) and want your details removed, ask the coach or club that entered them, or email us.

Who it is shared with

We don’t sell or rent personal information. It is shared only with the services that run FlotionVB, each for its own part:

  • Supabase — sign-in and the database your account and matches are stored in, which also holds the visit counts, hosted in Sydney, Australia.
  • Stripe — payments, receipts and subscription management, as merchant of record for Pro and Pro Unlimited. Stripe may process data outside Australia.
  • Anthropic — only if you type a question in Ask: receives that question and the details listed above (for a follow-up, also the earlier questions and the figures of the answer on your screen, with player names replaced), and returns a calculation, or a reply about those figures, for the app to use. Anthropic may process data outside Australia.
  • Netlify — hosts the website and app, and receives the website’s email sign-up form.
  • Resend — if you sign in with your email address, delivers the email that carries your sign-in code, so it receives that address and the email.
  • Google — if you choose Google sign-in; Google Fonts, which every page loads its fonts from; and YouTube, if you attach a match video, which then plays through YouTube’s player.
  • Apple — if you choose Sign in with Apple in the iPhone app: Apple confirms who you are and gives us the name and email address you agree to share.
  • jsDelivr — delivers the sign-in library the landing page and the app load.

What your browser loads from other services. Every page of this website, and the app, loads its fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads them; Google Fonts sets no cookies. The landing page and the app also load the sign-in library from jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net), which likewise sees your IP address and browser details. If you open a match that has a video attached, the app loads YouTube’s player from www.youtube.com; it is YouTube’s own player, runs under Google’s privacy policy and may set YouTube’s cookies. When a team scores three points in a row the app loads an animated fire from fonts.gstatic.com (Google’s Noto Animated Emoji, used under CC BY 4.0), which Google sees the same way as the fonts. We send none of them your matches or your account details. Once your browser holds a copy of the fonts or the library it may not fetch them again for a while. Every page of this website, and the app on the web, also sends one request to our own database at Supabase (suqqstoqxkwhwytaisrd.supabase.co) to count the visit, unless it is one we don’t count (above); like any request it carries your IP address and browser details, and the count keeps neither.

Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia (including in the United States). We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. A match you delete goes to Recently deleted and can be restored; Delete forever removes it permanently. When you delete your account it goes with everything in it, except records we must keep by law — Stripe keeps payment records for tax purposes. An email sign-up is kept until you unsubscribe.

Your choices

  • See everything you have tracked at any time in Match History, and export any match from its ⋮ menu (Export match).
  • Correct it in the app — every match, event, team and roster can be edited.
  • Delete individual matches in the app, or your whole account (below).
  • Unsubscribe from email updates with the link in any of them, or by emailing us.
  • Ask what we hold about you, or raise a concern, at info@flotionvb.com. We aim to reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Deleting your account

In the Flotion VB app, open Match History, tap ⋮ and choose Delete account, then type your email address to confirm. If you can’t sign in, email info@flotionvb.com from the address the account uses and we will delete it for you.

Deleting is immediate and can’t be undone. It removes your sign-in and every match, team, roster, collation, saved question and preference in the account, and cancels a Pro or Pro Unlimited subscription at once so nothing more is charged. Only what the law makes us keep stays: Stripe’s record of past payments, for tax. To keep a copy of your matches, use Export match on each one first.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections, and the database only lets each account read and change its own rows. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever affected your information we would tell you.

Children

FlotionVB is for coaches, players and parents tracking volleyball. Account holders under 18 should have a parent or guardian’s permission.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it. For a change that matters to how your information is used, we will let you know — in the app or by email — before it takes effect.
